If the process is too labour intensive and somebody like greg wants to quit completely it doesn't bode well tbh. Agree. We need to simplify badly. I’ll post my suggestion later when I find some free time.

I support the simplification. GOD! I don't believe that the common sense is going to win.
We need to answer a couple of questions rather fast: What are we legally? How do finances of whatever we are legally work?
And a lot more questions.

As pointed out by others, someone's name has to appear on the paperwork (eg. hosting). We should ask for volunteers who are willing to be that person.

Or wait until there is a legal entity who actually is considered owner of the site and can make contracts on behalf of the site, but you know, whatever.

Same thing. Somebody has to be willing to put their name to that legal entity.

Which is what my proposal in ATF is hoping to accomplish. If someone randomly puts their name on a contract for hosting services that we use for this site how are they not the defacto owner of the site?
If we pick an owner and they set up the organization then we have at least chosen the person who owns the site. If we pick Cuse we've chosen someone with a demonstrated dedication to the site and running it in an open fashion.
No one on this committee was given that mandate by the community.

It doesn't have to be only one person unless there is only one volunteer.

I've yet to seen a EULA that allowed more than one person to agree to it, but if you think it would be possible for a group of people to do that's fine, they are the new owners of site.
