I don't know if I am supposed to create here any threads or not, if I am breaking any rules, but I suppose that if someone doesn't like it, you can say so.
I don't like how the things are going on. But.... on the other hand what can I offer as alternative variant?
I don't have a clear concept, but I hope that it somehow arises while writing this.
If I look at the threads that are here now, I like how the thread about increasing voting participation went. People suggested very clear formulated things. Even zan made a post that made me totally happy. All things suggested in the thread make in my POV sense. I or someone else can check with technic if it is possible and make a poll with decision based on that. Something sensible and clear came out of it.
I think that all this endless talk about voting quorum and majority and consensus..... are ...... I say it so: the amount of time and words invested in it is >>>>>>>>>>> than use of it.
We have been 23 people in this committee, we can plain talk a little bit about any decision that needs to be made, make a poll, have a short voting phase and if after a couple of days there 16 or 17 or 18 or all have voted, plain doesn't matter. If someone didn't log in for a week, his problems.
For many many many things I am very happy with many different variants. Like Mr. Wookie said, things are non-controversial. And now to spend days and days to decide on how we will decide if things are controversial or not is in my POV nonsense. And if something is controversial we will see it very fast because someone will start to stomp their feet and show his/her frustration.
So..... which real decisions have to be made:
What for are we here? What is the idea behind this forum?
In whose name will be new hosting paid and how?
What are we legally? (That one is a big deal and if someone of you is a lawyer I so want your contribution)
How many admins with access to the database on different parts of the website will be? Generally details of the admin responsibility?
What are posting rules in the forum? How we choose the mods?
That is what I have in my head spontaneously.
