Due to unforeseen circumstances, Cuse has advised that the forum could use additional mods at this time. One or two or maybe even three additional mods would be nice.
This thread will be for discussion and nomination of candidates. Please feel free to "nominate" yourself. Seriously, this is entirely welcome and encouraged. Don't be shy. No prior modding is required and may well be looked on as a good thing.
Microbet has recommended/nominated smacc25 and, I think, smacc25 has stated that he is willing to do it. It would be a good idea (obviously) if someone who is nominated states in this thread that they are willing to become a mod at this time.
Once discussion has reached a certain point, a vote of the governance committee will be opened to select additional mods based upon the nominations in this thread.
Of course, at this time it is unknown how many members will be nominated in this thread so there are different ways the eventual voting could be structured. If appropriate, we should probably discuss that in this thread too. I guess the simplest thing would be if the vote is a simple yes/no on a slate of all nominated mods (all of them en masse). Other alternatives are possible as well.
I honestly don't know if a poll can be added to a thread after it is already opened, so perhaps the voting will eventually take place in this thread. Or perhaps another thread will have to be opened for just the voting.
P.S. I have no special standing in this issue and am starting this thread so that people who lurk the forum can see a new thread and hopefully open it and contribute to the discussions and/or nominate somebody (including themself).
